Drew's "Predict The Oscars...Badly" Contest

This Contest Is Gone, John.

Okay, if you were around last year you remember what the deal is. If not, let me make it plain for ya. I'm not a big fan of the Oscar prediction contests. Anybody can watch "E!" and get a pretty good feel for who's going to win. Besides, there's a zillion of 'em on the web already, what's the fun in doing the exact same thing as everybody else? So I like to have my oscar contest with a twist: The person who predicts the most Oscar LOSERS wins.

Lemme explain. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to predict who/what is most likely to NOT win an Oscar in each category. Let's say last year you thought Fargo was the least likely movie to win for Best Picture. That's who you would predict to lose. Now, I know it sounds pretty easy because only one thing wins an Oscar in each category you've got a 4 out of 5 chance in most categories to pick the loser. But do you know how many people last year predicted that Juliette Binoche was a lock to not win an Oscar? Also, you have to predict in each category. You can't possibly tell me with a straight face that you know for sure who is a sure thing to not win for Best Short Subject Documentary. If you have any questions about it, just send me a quick e-mail at drew@script-o-rama.com before you enter.

The person who predicts the most losers will win a choice between:
(a) A two-tape set of the movie Dead Man Walking (Best Actress Winner 1995) or
(b) A Jackie Brown poster featuring Robert Forster (Best Supporting Actor Nominee 1997)

In the event of a tie, one winner will be chosen randomly. Only one entry per person will be eligible; multiple entries will not only disqualify you, but will haunt your guilty conscience eternally. The last day to enter is March 20, 1998. Any entry made after March 20, 1998 will result in an e-mail succinctly stating "You snooze, you lose" and the entry be invalid. The winner will be announced April 4, 1998 and with his/her permission, be given public acclaim on the web site. Void where prohibited. But honestly, if you live in a place that won't even allow you to win a stinkin' movie contest, you should probably consider moving...
